Sources
Guide articles are written from official sources: laws and regulations, the websites of ministries and embassies, the Central Election Commission, the revenue agency, the social security institute, the health insurance fund and other institutions. Every deadline, fee or list of documents must have such a source — it is listed at the end of the article. Forums and unofficial websites are never the basis for a statement.
Date checked
Every article shows when it was last checked. Articles are reviewed again at a set interval — usually three to six months, more often where the rules change frequently. If the interval has passed, the page shows a warning to confirm the information with the official source.
When sources disagree
Sometimes official texts contradict each other or the practice of the institutions. In that case we say so in the article and advise you to confirm with the institution rather than guess.
Organisation directory
Details of organisations come from the organisations themselves, their websites and public registers. “Verified” means the editors have confirmed the details with the organisation or from an official source; “Being checked” means the details are still awaiting confirmation.
Mistakes and corrections
If you spot a mistake, let us know. We correct factual errors as quickly as we can and update the date checked.
Languages
The main language is Bulgarian. English versions are translated from the Bulgarian text; a page that has no translation yet says so.
