A Bulgarian folk dance community with groups in Copenhagen, Denmark, and Malmö, Sweden.
About
"BG Folk Ritmi" is a dance community that brings Bulgarians in Copenhagen and Malmö together through Bulgarian folk dance. For its first two years the group, then called "Folk Ritmi", existed only in Copenhagen; a second group was set up in Malmö in early 2016.
Since 2018 the two groups have worked under the joint name "BG Folk Ritmi" – Copenhagen, Denmark & Malmö, Sweden. They have more than 50 dancers.
The groups present Bulgarian folklore in Denmark, Sweden and at gatherings, festivals and concerts in a number of other countries. At the end of 2018 the community organised the concert "The Magic of Bulgarian Folklore" at a theatre in Taastrup, Denmark, with 8 other dance groups from 5 countries and 150 performers in total.
